Gorgeous Shawls imports and distributes high quality pashminas, traditionally hand-woven and embroidered by skilled artisans in Kashmir and India. In collaboration with the artist Christine Collet, Gorgeous Shawls has initiated the art project 'Pashmina and its Painting', which will be presented at ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH
Pashmina is made from the soft undercoat of animals known as Changthangi or Pashmina goats, endemic to the high
altitudes of the Himalayas. Known for its exceptional warmth, lightness and softness, Pashmina is widely regarded as
one of the world's finest natural fibres. The traditional production of genuine pashmina involves hand spinning, resulting
in textiles of unparalleled quality, particularly in the form of shawls. The rarity of this material, coupled with the labourintensive nature of its production, has led to its widespread appreciation and desire. The hand-embroidered shawls in this collection have been meticulously crafted to embody the authenticity and luxurious feel associated with genuine pashmina. The pieces are distinguished by their enduring elegance and comfort. The shawls in this collection are masterpieces, embodying centuries-old techniques and intricate details that elevate each piece to the status of a work of art. Skilfully handcrafted, the motifs reflect the cultural diversity and rich heritage of the region.
Gorgeous Shawls is a brand of Will Skill Passion LLC. The company's name encapsulates the commitment, expertise and
fervour of the artisans and all those engaged in this profession. Christine Collet was born in Bern as the granddaughter of a painter and received an artistic education from an early age. Throughout her life, she travelled extensively, including several years in South Korea and Central America. Her extensive travels have provided her with a rich array of impressions, which she has subsequently expressed through the mediums
of colour, scent and emotion in her artistic oeuvre. Her encounters with prominent artistic figures further contributed
to her artistic evolution, imparting invaluable insights and guidance. These interactions contributed to the evolution of
her unique artistic style and expression. Her artistic techniques are diverse, incorporating elements such as texture, sand, pigment, oil, acrylic, and tar. While frequently abstract in style, her works also exhibit figurative elements. The viewer is confronted with a field of tension
between dream and reality. The artist herself describes her working method as follows: "The brush is the key that opens
the door to my imaginary world".

Gorgeous Shawls importiert und vertreibt hochwertige Pashminas, die in traditioneller Handarbeit von erfahrenen Meistern in Kaschmir und Indien gewebt und bestickt werden. In Kooperation mit der Künstlerin Christine Collet wurde das Kunstprojekt "Pashmina and its Painting" von Gorgeous Shawls initiiert, welches an der ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH präsentiert wird.
Pashmina wird aus dem weichen Unterfell der als Changthangi oder Pashmina-Ziege bezeichneten Tiere gewonnen, die
in den Hochlagen des Himalaya beheimatet sind. Pashmina ist für seine aussergewöhnliche Wärme, Leichtigkeit und
Weichheit bekannt und gilt als eine der exquisitesten Naturfasern der Welt. Die Herstellung von echtem Pashmina erfolgt
traditionell per Handspinning, wobei die daraus resultierenden Textilien, wie Schals und Tücher, von ausserordentlicher
Qualität sind. Aufgrund der limitierten Verfügbarkeit und des arbeitsintensiven Herstellungsprozesses ist echter
Pashmina ein begehrtes Gut. Die handbestickten Schals dieser Kollektion werden unter Berücksichtigung der
Authentizität und des luxuriösen Gefühls, das mit echtem Pashmina assoziiert wird, hergestellt. Die Stücke zeichnen sich
durch eine dauerhafte Eleganz und einen hohen Tragekomfort aus. Die Schals stellen Meisterwerke dar, in denen sich
jahrhundertealte Techniken und komplizierte Details widerspiegeln, die jedes Stück zu einem Kunstwerk machen. Die
handgefertigten Motive reflektieren die kulturelle Diversität und das reiche Erbe der Region.

Können und die Leidenschaft der Kunsthandwerker sowie aller in diesem Beruf Tätigen.
Christine Collet wurde als Enkelin eines Malers in Bern geboren und erhielt bereits in früher Kindheit eine künstlerische Ausbildung. Im Laufe ihres Lebens unternahm sie ausgedehnte Reisen, die sie unter anderem für mehrere Jahre nach Südkorea und Mittelamerika führten. Auf ihren zahlreichen Reisen sammelte sie Eindrücke, die sie in Form von Farben, Düften und Emotionen in ihren künstlerischen Werken zum Ausdruck brachte. Im Laufe der Zeit kreuzten sich ihre Wege mit bedeutenden Künstlerpersönlichkeiten, von denen sie wertvolle Lektionen erhielt. Diese halfen ihr, allmählich ihren eigenen, persönlichen Stil und Ausdruck zu entwickeln. Ihre Techniken sind vielfältig und umfassen unter anderem Struktur, Sand, Pigmente, Öl, Acryl und Teer. Ihre Werke sind häufig abstrakt, weisen jedoch gelegentlich auch figurative Züge auf. Der Betrachter sieht sich einem Spannungsfeld zwischen Traum und Wirklichkeit ausgesetzt. Die Künstlerin selbst beschreibt ihre Arbeitsweise wie folgt: "Der Pinsel ist der Schlüssel, der die Tür zu meiner imaginären Welt öffnet."
